Alejandro Ruiz Gil and Darren Chang winners of the Rolex Trophy
The Real Club de Golf de Sevilla hosted yesterday the Rolex Golf Trophy 2016, organized by Relojería El Cronómetro. The round had as handicap winner Alejandro Gil Ruiz with 65 net strokes, and as winner of the scratch prize Darren Chang, with 74 gross strokes. Both champions are qualified for the final round of the circuit to be held at the Real Club Valderrama (Sotogrande) on October 15. In this sense, the winners of Seville will face the winners of the other nine tournaments that make up the Rolex Golf Trophy 2016. The day began with a breakfast where the players were able to meet their rivals for a place in the final on October 15 at Valderrama.
The competition took place under the Stroke Play modality and with unbeatable weather conditions for the practice of golf. The organization provided a snack at the halfway point. Once the 18 holes were finished, the players enjoyed a pleasant cocktail followed by the awarding of prizes to the winners and a raffle of some of the brand’s gifts.
In this line, Álvaro Sanchís, representative of Relojería El Cronómetro, highlighted his gratitude “to the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla and its members for being able to celebrate this fantastic tournament in such a prestigious club with so much history and to Rolex Spain for its magnificent organization”. He also stated that “hopefully we can continue to hold this great tournament for the enjoyment of the players for many years to come”. The tournament will move to Gran Canaria to play the next round on October 6 at the Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas, which celebrates its 125th anniversary.
