Seiko
The history of Seiko watches is a story about innovation. Thanks to a continuous stream of successful innovations over the past decades, Seiko has earned its place as a world leader in watch technology. In 1881 Kintaro Hattori opened a watch and jewelry store in the Ginza district of Tokyo and in 1892 manufactured the first watch with the name Seikosha meaning “House of exquisite workmanship”. In the 1970s, the Japanese firm revolutionized the world of watchmaking with its quartz models, which were cheaper and more accurate than the old European watches. This allowed it to become one of the most important and influential watchmaking firms in the world, thanks, above all, to an image linked to modernity and cutting-edge technology.
