This is something common that all websites do (sometimes unknowingly as many users of personal blogs), but we want to be clear and transparent about the use that is made of them in our case.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are and how we use them, the types of cookies we use, i.e., the information we collect through cookies and how that information is used, and how to control cookie preferences. For more information on how we use, store and keep your personal data secure, please see our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that are installed on the computer from which you access our website for a variety of purposes related to navigation, such as recognizing you when you return to our website or remembering your preferences.

Cookies are an essential tool for proper navigation on most websites (including ours), facilitating usability and ease of navigation. Cookies also sometimes help us to locate errors related to navigation that would otherwise be difficult to identify, making it easier for us to correct them.

A cookie can in no case damage your computer. The fact that you now see many warnings about the use of cookies is not because it is something new (cookies have been with us for decades), but the novelty now is that users are informed of what data is handled with them (even if it is the same as always).

Depending on the period of time they remain active, they can be:

  • Session Cookies: Their duration is very short, usually until the browser is closed, or little more, disappearing without leaving a trace on the computer. Their purpose is usually to store some variables or data to be used in the short term, facilitating navigation and increasing usability. These are the ones we use the most, and they allow things like adding things to the cart, not having to fill in the form again if you have to go back, etc…
  • Permanent Cookies: Its duration is longer, although always with a fixed duration (they have a deletion date) and it is usually to store data that with different objectives is interesting that they remain stored longer. For example, they are in charge of remembering your user name each time you log in, so that you don’t have to identify yourself each time.

Depending on who manages them, they may be:

  • Own Cookies: These are those managed exclusively by us with the aim of facilitating navigation and the correct use of the web and the purchase process.
  • Third-party cookies: These are sent by an entity other than us, which will be responsible for processing the data. For example Google, which is our statistics provider that allows us to better understand aggregate (never individual) behavior. Many of these cookies are only installed if you come from a third party (by clicking on an advertisement, an email, a social network…).

According to their nature or objective, they can be:

  • Technical Cookies: Essential for the proper functioning of the web or some functionality. These are mostly our own cookies, which we use to improve our service. Things as basic as remembering the products you have added to the cart, recognizing your customer login each time you log in (if you have identified yourself), remembering the form data in case you have to go back, correctly calculating the shipping costs, etc…
  • Analytical Cookies: These allow us to quantify users and analyze their browsing behavior, in an aggregate and anonymous way. They are usually third-party cookies that provide us with data on which pages are the most visited, at what time, from what devices, which is of great help to us to improve the layout of the web and to know which aspects are of most interest or where there may be a navigation problem.
  • Advertising Cookies: They allow to measure and optimize the impact of advertising campaigns. They are also usually third-party cookies that allow us to know the impact of an advertising campaign on search engines, social networks, mail, other websites… The data they provide are aggregated and anonymous, as are the analytics, with which they are sometimes integrated in the same reports.
