Last Wednesday, July 3rd, we had the honor of organizing an event with Frederique Constant…
Ten century-old businesses that have survived fashions and crises
In Seville and its province there are probably more than a hundred of these businesses, which are part of history itself.
About eighty of them were compiled in 2008 in a magnificent work published by the CES: “More than one hundred years creating business in Seville”. In the meantime, a few more have joined the centennial elite.
They are authentic ethnographic jewels, some of them even romantic scenes of other times, with an authenticity out of series and fictions, which make them seem, for a while, exquisite tasters of luxuries that are priceless because they are subtleties; wide range products, from normality or exquisiteness, from the traditional to the right point of innovation. In these establishments, the attention is quick, attentive to your person, a treatment that surprises and pleases in these times of speed and economy of profit to the minute that run.
Founded: 1901
The presence in Seville of “El Cronómetro”, undeniable from the vision of Sierpes Street, is due to the Valencian Enrique Sanchís Cucart. His son, Enrique Sanchís García, was trained in Switzerland in watchmaking techniques in a non-existent career in this country. Today, Enrique Sanchís Fernández-Mensaque, preserves the undisputed quality of the establishment of master watchmakers adapting to the new times. Web: www.elcronometro.com.
