The Patek Philippe brand presents its 2017 collections
Improvements in urban planning, an increase in direct flights and greater specialization of local commerce are key for the sector.
The emblematic Villa Luisa was the place chosen for the presentation of the new watches of the prestigious firm Patek Philippe which, for more than half a century, has been represented in Seville by the watchmaker El Cronómetro, a hallmark of identity in the city.
In a privileged setting, where many of the “treasures” created by the Geneva brand were displayed, many customers and friends of the watchmaker did not want to miss yesterday a unique event, organized by Patek Philippe and El Cronómetro.
“For us it is a very important event, to be able to show our customers Patek Philippe watches first hand, it is a very special occasion that joins the close relationship we have had for years with the brand,” explained Álvaro Sanchís, owner of El Cronómetro, who hosted the event with Borja Malet, Marketing representative of Patek Philippe.
The watchmaker invited its best customers to enjoy a unique night, and they did not fail. “We wanted both customers who already own a Patek Philippe watch and are loyal to the brand and new customers who, we thought, might be interested in some of the models on display,” said Sanchís.
Villa Luisa hosted the complete collection of the Geneva brand in addition to the presentation of the novelties of this 2017, a unique combination in Spain with haute horlogerie as the protagonist. “For attendees to be able to see the entire Patek Philippe collection is a privilege, as it cannot be seen anywhere, only in their official stores, in Switzerland, or at the World Watch and Jewelry Show, which is held once a year in Basel,” detailed the owner of “El Cronómetro”.
New models
Patek Philippe watches are, as lovers of the brand attest, pure art, a process that unites tradition and innovation to create true jewels of engineering. Models for men, women, with or without diamonds, with calendar, different types of dials, chronometers or more youthful. There is something for everyone, as could be seen yesterday in Seville thanks to the brand and El Cronómetro.
Among the novelties presented last night were the 5320G Perpetual Calendar, a vintage-style piece; the Aquanaut 5168G, with 18-carat white gold, created as a tribute to the 20 years of the collection of the same name; the novel Calatrava 6006G with an extra-flat self-winding caliber 240 or the feminine 4947G Annual Calendar, whose dial has a unique satin finish.
All the models were appreciated and contemplated by the clients of El Cronómetro, a reference company in the sector. Founded in 1901, it has a long family tradition that goes back six generations and has been representing Patek Philippe in Seville since 1965. In addition, its establishment, on Sierpes Street, is an obligatory reference in the traditional Sevillian physiognomy, something that the Sanchís family, its owners, has always taken care of in order to preserve the initial image of the premises, in which its exterior clocks stand out.
For its part, Patek Philippe, founded in 1839, is the last independent family-owned Genevan manufacture and its watches are considered by many experts to be the best in the world. In the hands of the Stern family since 1932, it has been able to combine traditional concepts with innovation to continue creating new models that join the more than 80 registered patents held by the brand.
