Last Wednesday, July 3rd, we had the honor of organizing an event with Frederique Constant…
Our distinctive quality is excellence in service.
Talking about the Sanchís family is talking about master watchmakers of reference both nationally and internationally. El Cronómetro represents the tradition of a century dedicated to the world of watchmaking, which means talking about the experience, quality and exclusivity of this Sevillian firm.
What is the origin of El Cronómetro?
Its founder was Enrique Sanchís Cucart, great-grandfather of the current manager, belonging to a family with a long watchmaking tradition and coming from a family of Levantine businessmen. Originally, El Cronómetro was located on Fernández y González Street. It was in 1901 when it was moved to its current location on Sierpes Street.
How has the company evolved throughout its history?
Those were difficult times during the first three quarters of the century, when import quotas limited purchases. Subsequently, the offer was expanded, always with first class brands and recognized worldwide reputation.
What brands do you work with?
Mainly with selective distribution brands as sole retailers in the province, such as Rolex, Patek Philippe and Jaeger-LeCoultre, among others. We regularly attend the main trade fairs in the sector, from where we look for the most attractive aesthetic and technological innovations of the moment.
What type of audience are you targeting?
We do not work for a special public, although it is true, due to the brands we represent, that the offer is oriented to people with personality, gourmets and connoisseurs of quality products.
What is the distinguishing feature of El Cronómetro compared to other companies in the sector?
Competition as such does not exist in this guild. We are naturally organized in such a way that each one offers different products and, together, we satisfy the possible needs of this great city. Perhaps our distinctive quality is the excellence in service and, to this end, we continuously train our sales and workshop personnel, having equipped our Technical Service with means and tools that are difficult to surpass.
What are your plans for the future?
Up to now, we have always reinvested in the company, both in terms of content and in terms of container and, above all, in the training and education of our personnel. In the last year we have transformed the two stores in Sierpes street and opened another one in Rioja street. On the other hand, we are very present on the Internet, where we are developing applications for both institutional positioning and the new sales channel with good future prospects. And finally, for the last couple of years we have been expanding our jewelry offerings with prestigious brands such as Pomellato and our own designs. Recently, we have incorporated the renowned Swiss writing company “Caran D’Ache”.
What other actions does the company El Cronómetro carry out beyond its stores and network?
We can highlight our contribution and collaboration with charitable entities with systematic contributions to various disadvantaged groups in our province, such as the Hermanas de La Cruz and other entities.
