In 2025, Grand Seiko introduced the Spring Drive Caliber 9RB2, an innovative movement that received the then new U.F.A. designation, which stands for “Ultra Fine Accuracy”. With an annual accuracy rate of ±20 seconds, the Caliber 9RB2 earned the distinction of being the most accurate wristwatch movement driven by a mainspring.* This model is equipped with the Caliber 9RB1, which features an improved construction that makes it ideal for sporty conditions, while sharing the same attributes as the Caliber 9RB2. The term ushio, meaning “tide” in Japanese, evokes the waters surrounding the Japanese archipelago. The blue dial of this creation reflects the vast expanse of the sea through a gradient that captures the light penetrating the depths of the ocean.
