In 2025, Grand Seiko introduced the Spring Drive Caliber 9RB2, a revolutionary movement that received the then new U.F.A. designation, which stands for “Ultra Fine Accuracy”. With an annual accuracy of ±20 seconds, the Caliber 9RB2 earned the distinction of being the most accurate wristwatch movement driven by a motor-driven barrel.* This model is powered by the Caliber 9RB1, which features an improved construction that makes it ideal for sporty conditions, while sharing the same attributes as the Caliber 9RB2. The term ushio, which means “tide” in Japanese, evokes the waters surrounding the Japanese archipelago. The green dial is inspired by the serene beauty of the shallow coastal waters near the shore.
