The origins of TUDOR date back to 1926, when “The Tudor” was first registered in the name of Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf. In 1946 he created the company “Montres TUDOR S.A.” to offer watches with the quality and reliability of a Rolex at a more affordable price. In 2017, TUDOR launched a new campaign with the slogan “Born To Dare”. It reflects both the history of the brand and what it is today. It tells the adventures of people who have achieved the extraordinary on land, on ice, in the air or underwater with a TUDOR watch on their wrists. The motto also refers to the vision of Hans Wilsdorf, founder of TUDOR, who produced TUDOR watches designed to withstand the most extreme conditions and conceived for the most daring lifestyles. It is testament to the unique approach to watchmaking for which TUDOR is known today. Its innovations, pioneering in the watchmaking sector, have become a reference today. Since Winter 2021/2022, TUDOR is partnering with the World Surf League on its two legendary Big Wave Season events, the TUDOR Nazaré Big Wave Challenge in Nazaré, Portugal, and the TUDOR Jaws Big Wave Challenge in Maui, Hawaii.

MANUFACTURING
Each TUDOR watch is assembled and fully tested to TUDOR’s superior standards at the brand’s watch Manufacture located in Le Locle, Switzerland. This new state-of-the-art facility, which brings together the watchmakers’ savoir-faire with the best of automated production management and certification systems, was completed in 2021 after three years of construction.
MOVEMENTS
In 2015, TUDOR announced the first Manufacture Caliber in its history. With a high-performance Caliber of excellent precision and proven endurance, it offers a power reserve of 70 hours. This means that the wearer of the watch can take it off on a Friday afternoon and put it back on Monday morning without having to wind it.
